We the Guardians is an online platform for parents, teachers and ambitious learners, who want to use their talents to create a better world.

The need to conserve and to live with nature instead of opposed to it are challenges that urgently require action. We need a generation of experts who delve deeply into microscopic details and at the same time have general knowledge and morality. This begs for an educational approach in which teachers as well as learners need
to test their knowledge and talents within a real-life context.

Children are naturally very open to learn in real-life-situations. Daniel Quinn wrote: 'Children are the most fantastic learners in the world'.  and we agree. It is a privilege to be their guide and introduce them to the complexity of this world.

The learning material is based on 6 segments, that are a reflection of the careers available in society:

- Technology
- Survival Basics
- Health
- Arts and crafts
- Food
- Building
- Creation

All segments are connected to nature and are interconnected. The topics from each segment (a pizza slice) constitute  approximately 6 weeks of materials and activities.
These activities are called Lev: choose the learning content. Look at the Lev's Topics and examples of the weekly Lev here.

Our goals are clear: maximise the talents that each child has and allow them apply these in different contexts. A flexible curriculum is required. Every student can follow his/her own path of learning. This requires a flexible Method.

Our curriculum consist of 6 cycles:

  1. Family-cycle: activities and learning are in and around the home; e.g. clean water, use of electricity, cooking healthy foods, growing sprouts, hospitality in the home.
  2. Neighbourhood-cycle: activities and learning take place within the smaller community, e.g. traffic rules, markets, flora and fauna in parks
  3. City-cycle: activities and learning focus on the small village or city-context  e.g. architecture, city design, green zones
  4. Regional Cycle: activities and learning zooms in on a region with its specific environment, Natural Parks, watermanagement.
  5. National Cycle: activities and learning deal with topics that are of national level, such as national politics, democracy,  judicial system, protecting sea life.
  6. International Cycle: activities and learning are mainly in English and focuses on topics on an international level: international trade, sustainability,

In depth learning and successive learning can take place at the same time. E.g. students can study technology in the family-cycle and art in the city-cycle This allows children to repeat subjects when needed and speed up the learning process when possible .This method is based on the 4C-ID model.

You are welcome to experience this way of teaching and learning. As an introduction the first 2 successive weeks are free. At present we offer lessons, activities within the Family-, Neighbourhood-, and City-Cycle, as the material is suitable for families with children -12 years. Do you want to know more?
